Alcoholic Liver Disease

The liver is well known for its ability to repair itself, but sometimes our lifestyle can take its toll, and eventually liver damage takes hold.  For some people, alcohol plays a prominent role in their social and working lives and it can be difficult to keep tabs on just how much we're drinking.

It is important to remember that not all people who develop alcoholic liver disease fit the stereotype of someone addicted to alcohol.  Many patients have evidence of liver damage despite leading quite normal lives and function at a high level.

If you're worried about how much you're drinking, have been told you have signs of liver damage, or simply want to know whether there has been any damage to your liver, then you should seek medical advice.  A few simple tests can often identfy early problems, or provide valuable ressurance.
